"Art is a personal act of courage, something one human does that creates change in another" (Seth Godin)

Over the years, creativity has given me insight into many of life's treasures. Life experience can be manifested in a poem, a thought, a song, or a photo. They all reflect the capture of a moment in time in various media. It is all a part of what makes me who I am, and I am happy to share that with you here in the Besselink Studio.

Images

Photography was almost my chosen profession - until physiotherapy called my name. Images are a wonderful way to document our life experiences. My primary repository is Flickr, though I share my best work on 500px. I also have a daily image project entitled "Image of the Day (IOTD)" that you can follow on Instagram.

Video

Any videos that I have recorded can be found on Vimeo and YouTube.

Music

I taught myself how to play guitar in my first year of university. Since then, I have written a number of songs and instrumentals, all of which will be gradually converted from analog to digital. I'll keep you updated on where you can find them - and when you can find me playing live once again.

Podcast

What began as the "Consumer's Guide to Health" (CGH) will soon morph into two podcasts: "Live A Smart Life" and "The Friday Five". The 50 episodes of CGH (2009-2012) can be found on my podcast page as well as iTunes.

Writing

Needless to say, I enjoy the process of writing. I wasn't really a "writer" in school, but I came to appreciate the value of it. What initially started as a process of keeping a journal ended up having a life of its own. I now have a daily writing practice that has extended well over 2500 consecutive days.

You can find some of my prose, fiction, poetry, and the like here, as well as further links to my books. "RunSmart: A Comprehensive Approach To Injury-Free Running" (2008) was my first foray into publishing. I have several works in progress. You can find my books and other literary adventures on my author page on Lulu.
