Week Seven: We're #1!

Sunday, 12 October 2008 09:38

Repeat after me -

"We are number one - and OU still sucks!"

(the Longhorn fan in me just had to say so)

After a phenomenal team effort yesterday against the University of Oklahoma, the Longhorns were rewarded today with the number one ranking in college football. Well, at least for the next week. The next three weeks are still going to be tough, with Missouri, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech all waiting in the wings for an upset. But for the next 7 days, we can celebrate the #1 status, something we've not seen here in quite some time.

Better yet, let's make note of the whole Big 12 conference - with 6 teams in the top 16 in the country. Oh my, make that 4 Big 12 South division teams in the top 8! Yes, this has to make the Texas schedule the most difficult in the country. Where else do you have to play 4 top 10 teams just to get to your conference championship?

You can now return to your previously scheduled Longhorn celebrations, already in progress ...
